MILLENNIAL TARRAGONA AND TRADITIONAL FESTIVALS IN PARK PLAYA BARA

We are located in a region marked by its Roman past. Tarragona was the capital of the Roman Hispania (Imperial Tarraco). Through this city you will be able to contemplate more than 2,000 years of history visiting the amphitheatre, the Roman forum, the aqueduct, the ancient rampart and some diverse art.

Our most traditional festivities come alive thanks to the fireworks powder. Among the smoke trails they appear different typical characters of the festivals like devils, giants, “cabezudos”, “sardanas” and the spectacular “castellers” with their amazing human towers.

GASTRONOMY AND ACTIVITIES IN PARK PLAYA BARA

Our Mediterranean diet is present in all coastal villages, which make a living of the sea. In their markets you can see the public auction of fish and seafood caught by their fishermen. Do not forget to try the traditional cuisine of the area as the “calçotada”, the “xatonada” or the “romescada” (fish and seafood casserole with our typical Romesco sauce).

Our characteristic weather permits diverse leisure options on our golden sand beaches: Jet-ski, Sailing, Windsurfing … If you are looking for something more relaxed you can practice sport fishing calmly on the beach. And for those who feel young, you can dance all night long in the local discos or have a good time at the large theme park Port Aventura ™.

RODA DE BARA BEACH

Year after year, the water quality and facilities of this beach deserve the European Blue Flag. The European Union grants annually about 86 blue flags for Catalan beaches. Roda de Barà received 3 of them, one for each beach in the area: Costa Daurada Beach, Punta de la Guineu and Roda de Barà. All of them have an average water temperature of 22.5 ° C in summer and a dry and sunny climate even in low season.

The Roda de Barà is one of the best beaches in the Catalan region and is only 80 meters from our campsite. With fine white sand, and a massif of rocks that provides excellent views of the Costa Daurada. Wide and with several services at your disposal (snack bar and restaurant on the beach), it is ideal for walking. Nearby there is a typical fishing village called Roc de Sant Gaietà, full of possibilities for shopping and spending some free time.
